It’s insane to think how much time, effort and planning this video would have taken to make. But the result speaks for itself, if you don’t find this mildly interesting or entertaining then you probably don’t deserve eyes. This video titled “Big Bag Big Boom” by street painting masters, BLU is a captivating take on evolution. enjoy…
I’ve just started a couple of web design projects for a local surf shop chain and another more corporate job for Confiance Australia through my friends at Union Lane. They’ll both be using WordPress CMS and I’ll post updates as they arise, hoping both projects will be finished in 2 weeks (touch wood)…
I’m in the process of setting up my own little boutique streetwear label called ‘Onehundred’. Volume 1 is titled The End Is Near and there is 5 different tee designs, boxed and numbered in limited edition runs of 100. All the design concepts relate to 100 in one way or another as well. Anyhow it’s at the screen printers now and shall be released in 3 weeks so stay tuned. Go to the website and subscribe for updates and you can also see a preview of Volume 1 on the facebook.
I Got the boxes back the other day and they turned out sweet (see below). Peace
Haroshi makes his art pieces recycling old used skateboards. The 3d sculptures utilise hundred of layers of old decks to make vibrant, inspired works with layers of intrigue and history. How I would love to own one of his pieces but I’m pretty sure they would be out of my price range. Check out more of his work at: haroshi.com
I’ve just finished watching the first season of How To Make It In America, a dope new show on HBO about two guys starting a streetwear label in NY.
Definately recommended viewing and even though the first couple of episodes are a little slow, I gave it the benefit of the doubt and was soon addicted. Fingers crossed they pump out a second season.
Opening credits sequence/song are rad and the show also stars Kid Cudi, check it out…
Check out this amazing time lapse music clip by Sean Stiegemeier. It was shot over a year of travelling in places like Prague, Japan, Banff, Utah, Oregon, California, and more…
One of the really unique things about this clip is how the camera slowly pans during the time lapse, which I’d never seen before.
Back in January, I pitched for the new Ministry of Sound Electro House Sessions release. Once again it was an open brief just asking for colour and preferably a central type unit and once again my design musn’t have been right for them. (I can understand why, pictured below)
But anxiously I waited to see what was chosen as the artwork and last week I finally came across it. I was quite suprised with what they went with…
Generally MOS go with pretty cutting edge graphics for their cover art on releases such as this but I’ve got to say this retro/electro-futurism style which peaked about 6 months ago is now dull, dated and done to death unless you’re Sakke Soini. This cover artwork is definately a step in the wrong direction in my mind compared to previous releases done by the ever talented Luke Choice.
So props to the successful designer. (yes I may be a little bitter haha apologies)
I was browsing Behance today and came across the work of Jeff Rogers. Jeff is a graphic designer/art director/illustrator currently living in New York City. He currently works as a designer at SpotCo creating key art for broadway shows.
The nostalgia of Broadway definitely shines through in his work and he is one of few people that do that so cal “neu-vintage” style very well. Check his Behance here or Website here.
I was browsing thebestdesigns.com for some web design inspiration and came across Plate Interactive. Their website uses some cool stop motion animation worth checking out. There is one point where an ant wanders across screen and every time I get tricked into trying to brush it off my monitor.
Plate is a digital/interactive studio based in Singapore, they do some very nice web design aside from their own website. www.plateinteractive.com
